2008 "the gift (locked grooves #1") : light-sound installation, BES15, Lisbon
"the gift (locked grooves #1") is a sound and light architectural installation commissioned for the commemoration of the 15 years of the memorial fellowship Bolsa Ernesto de Sousa. It is conceived specifically for the kitchen of the exhibition space, using its connective architectural structure. Sound and light are restrained and contained from within the existing elements - lockers, doors, chimney, sink, passageways - to emphasize and transform the properties of space and achieve achieve a radically new spatial perception.

A instalação multi-canal comporta vários altifalantes fazendo recurso do espaço arquitectónico interno e das incidências próprias da parede de pedras. A casa deixa de ser apenas um lugar de pedras e de memória, mas um espaço que, murmurante, pode ser escutado, habitado.

This piece specifically composed for DF_Arte Contemporánea Gallery departs from a 15 minute recording made with binaural microphones in a garden. The recordings were then reworked and processed using as matrix the forms and lines of Ming Yi Chou painting in order to obtain diferent filtering and microscopic movements. The final composition results from the palimpsent of diferent crossings overlapped and gently layered, in a search to gather light and shadow, movement and stillness, paths that slowly set apart and come together again. http://www.dfarte.com
